Fantasy Football – Week 13

December 7th, 2007 by vermilk

Fantasy Football Scores

I am on a rolllllllllll.  I have won again as you can see from the picture above.  This is probably one of my best weeks ever (in the past three years) for scoring!  The only score that has ever come close was in the past few weeks when T. Owens scored me 41 points.

I don’t think I have a shot at the playoffs but I might end up with a winning season.

Fantasy Football – Week 12

November 26th, 2007 by vermilk

I’m on a winning streak!  I have won again this week and the week is not even over.  My current score is 93 – 71 and my opponent has no players left.  I have 2 players left.  I hope I don’t have to eat crow after tomorrows game.  Yes the Yahoo league that I’m in does allow negative scoring.  I feel safe however.  If I lose, I doubt you will hear it from me.

Fantasy Football – Week 11

November 22nd, 2007 by vermilk

Just when I’m about to give up, I actually win another game!  I have moved from last place in my league to next to last.  Now that’s got to excite even the most uninterested.  You’re probably wondering how I did it.  Well I had 41 points from one player – Terrel Owens.  TO was out of control with 4 TDs and a bunch of yardage.  The extra good news is that I am picked to win this weeks game by over 30 points!  Go team go!

Fantasy Football – Week 8

October 29th, 2007 by vermilk

I thought I would lose this week and I did, but not nearly as bad as I thought I would.  I was only defeated by 3 points.  The amazing part is that I played only 1 out of 3 wide receivers!  Yep, 3 slots and I could only fill 1.  My other 2 slots were filled with players who had bye weeks.

Next week looks bad as well.  I am without a QB for next week.  These byes are killing me.  I may trade a QB to be ready for next week.  I may also have a running back that may be out for next week.

At any rate, I can’t continue like this and have any chance at getting into the playoffs.

Fantasy Football – Week 6 & 7

October 23rd, 2007 by vermilk

I’ve been beat bad!  I’m down two more games with a new record of 2-5.  Next week will be another loss since I will have two wide receivers out due to byes.  I don’t want to trade them so I have to play them.  I will have zero points from my wide receivers next week.  I think I should just give up on this year.  I had such a good team this year – what happened?

Midnight Madness

October 13th, 2007 by vermilk

It’s almost B-Ball time again!  I’m a big fan of University of Kentucky basketball and it sounds like the Wildcats blew out the house with madness.  With new coach, Billy Gillispie the Wildcats better blow out the house and everything in it.  It’s important to show a big opening, but in Ky you better show a big opening, middle, and closing.  Actually, you better win the National Championship!  Yep, that’s the way Big Blue fans are.  You either win the Championship or ……. nothing else.  That’s because nothing else will do for these fans.  Ky fans are very loyal but very demanding.  When basketball season comes around the question between fans (and almost everyone is a fan) is, “Do you think the Cats will win it all this year?”  It’s not just chit chat either, these fans really expect a 1 in the win column – every year.

 BBall Courts

I know that the term “Midnight Madness” is not a Ky term.  I know that because in Ky it’s basketball madness all the time.  Above is a picture of our downtown courts.  You can find someone on the courts most all hours of the day regardless of weather (and yes, there is a person on the far end of the courts in this pic).  I have seen people in the heat of summer, cold of winter, day, night, rain, and snow on these courts.  The courts are home to fairly large tournaments every summer, occasionally bringing in UK players.  You will find people wear the big blue colors frequently, even when away from home.  Most people own a basketball goal.  Most kids want to grow up and play for UK.  Most don’t miss a game.

Is it madness?  Nah, it’s just good ole basketball in the heart of Kentucky.  Let the season hurry up and begin!

Fantasy Football – Week 5

October 9th, 2007 by vermilk

Well it happened again, I lost. I even had Dallas’ kicker, Nick Folk who kicked a 50+ yard field goal. I even played Pittsburgh as my defense. Pittsburgh shutdown Seattle’s offense and kept them scoreless. How did I loose? I’m keeping hope in the final weeks. Actually next week would be great if I could score another win.

Fantasy Football – Week 4

October 3rd, 2007 by vermilk

This was an exciting week for me, especially since I won. My record is a conservative 2-2-0. This one went down to the wire. After Sunday I was ahead 54 – 50. My only player left was Sammy Morris (I’ve done a little dropping and adding) and my opponent had Chad Johnson. Who do you think would have won this contest? I thought for sure that Chad Johnson would kill me. He did nothing for the most part. My Sammy Morris did excellent! Thank you Sammy for the win!

Fantasy Football – Cont’d

It continues and it’s not good. I’m down 1-2-0 and this week doesn’t look good.
